Padres COASTER Train Service 2010
COASTER trains run for every home Padres game, including special trains on Sundays and for afternoon games that begin at 3:35 p.m.
Padres fans can be confident they will reach the ballpark in time for the first pitch. Southbound train schedules have been coordinated around game start times, arriving downtown typically about an hour before the start of the game. COASTER northbound trains depart San Diego 50 minutes after the final out or special event (such as fireworks).
Padres fan can reach the ballpark without the stress of traffic by riding the COASTER to downtown San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot and transferring for free to the San Diego Trolley for the quick ride to the Gaslamp Quarter station. Riders who purchase a round trip COASTER ticket can transfer for free to the Trolley for Padres games. To reach the Gaslamp Quarter station, transfer to a Special Event Red Line Trolley at the Santa Fe Depot or from the American Plaza station, catch the Orange Line to the 12th & Imperial Transit Center. Click here for more information about Trolley service from the SDMTS web site.
Plan to arrive at your COASTER station 20 minutes before the scheduled train departure time to find parking and purchase tickets. All passengers on board COASTER trains must have a valid ticket, or the passenger is subject to citation and removal from the train. Tickets must be purchased on day of travel and can be bought by debit/credit card or cash from a station Ticket Vending Machine. Remember to purchase a round-trip COASTER ticket in order to use it to transfer for free to the San Diego Trolley for Padres game service.
