Youth Ride Free with PRONTO
The Youth Opportunity Pass (YOP), offers riders 18 and under North County Transit District (NCTD)* and MTS services for FREE through June 2026. Those wanting to participate in the YOP pilot program, sponsored by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) and County of San Diego, must apply for a reduced fare PRONTO app account, or a reduced fare PRONTO card.
To be eligible for the Youth Opportunity Pass, riders 18 and under must have a reduced fare PRONTO app account, or a reduced fare PRONTO card. Those who do not have a photo associated with their card, must travel with proof of eligibility. (Riders 5 and under ride NCTD and MTS free at all times, and do not need a card or proof of eligibility.)
FREE Gift for Eligibility Verification
All youth who currently have a Reduced Fare PRONTO account must have their eligibility verified. For a limited time only, while supplies last, receive a FREE gift when you verify your PRONTO account at any NCTD Customer Service Center. Not sure if your eligibility has been verified?
