NCTD Promotes Jeffery Wymer to Director of Information Technology

Wymer will lead strategic IT initiatives and strengthen cybersecurity

Oceanside, CA – North County Transit – San Diego Railroad (NCTD) has promoted Jeffery Wymer to the position of Director of Information Technology (IT). In this role, Wymer oversees all aspects of NCTD’s IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring the smooth and secure delivery of services to the community.

“Jeff’s promotion to Director of IT is a reflection of his exceptional leadership, deep technical expertise and commitment to advancing our organization’s technology capabilities,” said Tracey Foster, Chief Development Officer. “Jeff inspires and supports his team and I’m confident he will continue to drive our IT strategy forward in his new role.”

Wymer brings more than two decades of experience in IT and has been with NCTD for three years, starting as a Senior Systems Engineer and most recently serving as Cybersecurity Manager. He was instrumental in NCTD’s procurement of dedicated cybersecurity insurance and assisted the District in its successful Federal Transit Administration Triennial Audit and Transportation Security Administration Cybersecurity Review.

“I’m incredibly excited to take on this role and continue accelerating NCTD’s journey forward through resilient and innovative technology,” said Wymer. “I am committed to empowering our team and delivering a seamless experience for every rider.”

Before joining NCTD, Wymer spent 18 years with the San Bernardino County Superior Court, where he played a key role in major technology initiatives and lead a team in modernizing the Court’s technology systems. Wymer earned his Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification in June 2024.
