North County Transit District (NCTD) is committed to providing safe, reliable, accessible, and professional transportation services. As a part of that commitment, NCTD offers a variety of innovative first and last mile services. Through NCTD+, a mobility-as-a-service program that partners with transportation network companies (TNCs) and other providers, transportation options are created for riders.
Discounted NCTD+ On-Demand Connections: Uber, Lyft and TripShot
Through a pilot program with Uber, Lyft and TripShot, NCTD+ now offers discounted trips for the first and last miles of your SPRINTER or BREEZE trip within defined geographic zones near the Vista Transit Center.
For a limited time, discounted Uber and Lyft rides are available Monday through Friday (5:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.). Customers can book a discounted ride within their Uber or Lyft apps using a designated coupon code or link. Passengers with a mobility device will use the TripShot app for a ride.

For a limited time, NCTD+ is providing discounted trips for the first and last miles with a 16-mile defined geographic zone near the Sorrento Valley COASTER Station with Uber, Lyft, or TripShot.
The temporary service is available Monday-Friday during regular COASTER service times (5:30am to 10:30pm). NCTD covers the first $10 of your trip. Any remaining balance above $10 will be charged to your default payment method.

After scheduling your qualifying trip, a $2.50 fixed price will appear on the screen (on all rides up to $10). After your initial payment of $2.50, the $7.50 discount that will be paid by NCTD will automatically be applied when you request a Lyft trip in the eligible zone. Any remaining balance above $10 will be charged to your default payment method.
To take advantage of the Uber connection, you are required to have an Uber account. Install app forAndroid or Apple.

Enter a valid trip destination
Enter the appropriate voucher code (case sensitive) or scan the QR code to redeem Uber Transit Voucher

For Those Using a Mobility Device. Install app forAndroid or Apple.
Passengers who use mobility devices (that an Uber or Lyft vehicle cannot accommodate) can book qualifying trips for curb-to-curb service within the NCTD+ zones via NCTD vehicles equipped for mobility devices by using the TripShot app.

Register for an account (include the type of mobility device you use, so we send you the appropriate vehicle).
Book a qualifying trip and pay a flat rate of $2.50. The $7.50 discount will be applied for qualifying trips within the defined zone.
The Zones
To/from the Vista Transit Center: The Vista Zone covers 45.5 square miles including portions N Santa Fe Avenue and Taylor Street south to the courthouse and N Melrose Drive east to Coventry Road/Oak Drive.
IMPORTANT PILOT PROGRAM DETAILS
To qualify for the discount, each trip taken must begin or end at Vista Transit Center and be within the defined NCTD+ zone.
Customers taking qualifying trips will pay the first $2.50 of a trip, after which the $7.50 credit will be applied. If the fare is higher than $10, the passenger is responsible for the remaining balance.
A trip cannot be taken outside of the zone in which it is started.
Trips are limited to 50 per month.
Wait times may vary based on availability.
All child restraining laws apply to children riding in NCTD+ vehicles. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to comply with all prevailing regulations. Children under 6 years old weighing 40 pounds or less must ride in a child safety seat. The customer must provide the safety seat, secure the seat, and secure the child in the seat.

Some Uber products charge wait time fees automatically to all riders to compensate drivers after two minutes of waiting. Riders with disabilities may request a refund from Uber for any wait time charges on the Uber app or Uber’s website.
On the Uber app, a rider can review a trip receipt and select “Review my fees and fares” and then “Dispute my wait time fee.”
On Uber’s website, a rider can go to the “Help” page and select “Trip Issues and Refunds” and then “Dispute my wait time fee.”
Any rider who certifies with Uber that their disability impacts their ability to board a vehicle within two minutes will be exempt from being charged wait time fees. Click here to apply for an exemption with Uber.

On Lyft’s website, a rider can log into their account and select “Contact Us” to request a wait time fee refund.
