Batiquitos Lagoon Double Track

The purpose of this project is to replace the wooden trestle bridge to provide an area for trains to pass and for the lagoon tidal flow to improve due to a wider channel underneath the bridge, and improve overall lagoon health.

The double tracking will increase the efficiency and reliability of the Los Angeles-San Diego-San Luis Obispo (LOSSAN) coastal rail corridor, to accommodate existing train volumes and provide for future passenger and freight demand.
