An easy and affordable ride to San Diego’s hottest summer events
Oceanside, CA – With both Comic-Con and Opening Day of the Del Mar Races sold out, thousands of people will be flocking to these popular summer events this week. To avoid the expected regional gridlock, North County Transit District (NCTD) is offering event goers discounted tickets on COASTER that provides inexpensive and easy access to both San Diego Comic-Con and the Del Mar Races.
Comic-Con July 20 – July 23, 2023
Attendees of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con can take advantage of the COASTER 5-Pack and ride to its final stop at Santa Fe Depot Station in downtown San Diego. From there, passengers can transfer for free to the MTS Trolley and head to the Convention Center. The COASTER 5-Pack offers a 40 percent savings off a regional day pass.
Del Mar Races July 21 – September 10, 2023
For those heading to Opening Day at the Del Mar Races, or any race day this season, they can take the COASTER train to the Solana Beach Station and transfer to a free shuttle directly to the racetrack that runs approximately every 15 minutes.
Pony Express is back this year! This promotional fare provides for racetrack admission, a round-trip transit ride on COASTER, SPRINTER, BREEZE and MTS Trolley and bus, as well as the shuttle ride to the racetrack for one discounted price!
Pony Express is not offered on Opening Day, Friday, July 21, but is available for all other race days, Thursdays through Sundays, until September 10, 2023.
