Transit Information for Independence Day Festivities
Oceanside, CA — In preparation for 4th of July festivities throughout the region, North County Transit District (NCTD) is adding special event service and making some schedule changes. Customers are urged to give themselves extra time for parking at stations as parking may be full or limited due to large crowds.
On Saturday, July 3:
- SPRINTER will operate on a regular Saturday schedule with four extra late-night trips to allow those attending the Oceanside Fireworks Show—and others celebrating the evening along the route—to arrive and then return home after the festivities:
- Westbound: Trains will depart Escondido Transit Center at 7:03 p.m. and 9:03 p.m., arriving at Rancho Del Oro Station at 7:43 p.m. and 9:43 p.m., respectively, and continuing to Oceanside Transit Center.
- Eastbound: Trains will depart Oceanside Transit Center at 8:03 p.m. and 10:03 p.m., arriving at the Rancho Del Oro Station at 8:14 p.m. and 10:14 p.m. respectively, and Continuing to Escondido Transit Center.
- BREEZE, FLEX, and LIFT will operate on a normal Saturday schedule. BREEZE Route 408 will operate on its normal schedules.
- COASTER will operate on a regular Saturday schedule.
On Sunday, July 4:
- SPRINTER will operate on a Saturday schedule, and have one schedule change:
- The 11:33 p.m. eastbound train will be cancelled and an eastbound train departing out of Oceanside Transit Center at 12:33 a.m. will be added. This later train will allow those returning on the final northbound COASTER (11:15 p.m.) out of San Diego to connect with the eastbound SPRINTER.
- BREEZE, FLEX, and LIFT will operate on a Saturday schedule. BREEZE Route 408 will operate on its normal schedule, however the final shuttle will hold at Home*Grown*Fun until after fireworks have completed.
- COASTER will operate on a Saturday schedule.
On Monday, July 5:
- BREEZE, FLEX, and LIFT will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
- COASTER will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
- SPRINTER will operate on a regular weekday schedule.
BREEZE, COASTER, and SPRINTER tickets can be purchased on the same day of travel at each station on a ticket vending machine. COASTER tickets along with BREEZE and SPRINTER passes can be purchased ahead of time, and on the day of travel by using our Compass Cloud mobile ticketing app.
